Biomutant: Should You Choose Dark Red or Light Blue?

After creating your character in Biomutant you will be asked to choose Dark Red or Light Blue as a path. It's a literal fork in the road that isn't as important a choice as it may seem at first. It'll essentially start you off down a path towards branching skills, allowing you to get a feel for the choices you'll want to make early on. Biomutant: Should You Choose Dark Red or Light Blue?

One of the first choices you'll come across in Biomutant is whether to choose Dark Red or Light Blue paths. These essentially amount to good and bad morality options, with certain skills locked behind certain auras. This initial choice only adds points to your light or dark auras, starting you down the path of a specific morality. You won't be locked into either, and can quickly swap your aura from red to blue and vice versa by making certain choices. Don't worry too much about this initial choice, just decide whether you want to be good or evil at first.

Light Skills

There are a few Psi-Powers that can only be unlocked if you have a Light aura. Here's the full list:

• Freeze
• Levitate
• Ki Spark

Dark Skills

Inversely, there are also powers that can only be unlocked if you have a Dark aura. Here's what you can use:

• Sizzle Ball
• Telekinesis
• Sky Spark

How to Change Your Aura

To change your aura you must make certain choices when presented with them. You'll want to choose the dark options when rescuing people, send tribe leaders to jail, and kill any animals you catch. If you see a small critter running around you can catch it with your net. You can then kill it for Dark aura gain, or pet and keep it for Light gain. It will be pretty obvious what the good and bad options are here, with each tribe belonging to either the Light or Dark side. You can check your aura distribution in the Character menu.
