Battlefield 2042's soundtrack is almost here, and it's shaping up to be a gorgeously atmospheric journey. You'll be able to listen to the full, uncompressed version soon, or a slightly-distorted leak that's popped up on Youtube now.

The Battlefield 2042 soundtrack is going to be good

The soundtrack for Battlefield 2042 is going to be an absolute joy, it seems. An original score by Hildur Guðnadóttir and Sam Slater is set for release on all major streaming platforms on September 22nd 2021.

UPDATE: 10th September 2021

The full version has been revealed by Community Manager Adam Freeman in the below tweet. You can now listen to the album on Spotify, Apple Music, and more. While the 'official release' appears to still be September 22nd, you can listen to the full soundtrack now.

Original Article:

Hildur and Slater have previously worked together on critically-acclaimed scores, including the HBO miniseries Chernobyl, as well as the divisive 2019 hit film Joker.

For the Joker score, Hildur Guðnadóttir won the Academy Award for Best Original Score, which is pretty damn impressive if you consider she beat out the likes of John Williams, Randy Newman, and Alexandre Desplat.

Clearly, Battlefield 2042 is going to be the latest in what is sure to continue being a string of fantastic showings from the Icelandic musician, and you can pre-save the soundtrack on all major platforms including Spotify and Apple Music.

There have been leaks to the soundtrack already, though. I've given it a bit of a listen, and you can too. Reddit user Uberkritz put together a video with all the timestamps for the tracks in the description.

Personally, I gave it a bit of a listen but I think I'll wait until September 22nd. The leaked version is compressed and doesn't sound nearly as good as the full release will, but it's worth checking out if you're curious!
