Battlefield 2042 has undeniably struggled since launch, but EA and DICE are taking the game’s problems seriously. Unfortunately, as part of this, they've now delayed Battlefield 2042 Season One until Summer 2022, but they're issuing a new update this March to address player feedback.
Detailed in a blog post, DICE confirmed that Season 1’s launch was later than they'd like, giving players who bought the Gold and Ultimate Editions a special DLC pack, called the Steadfast Exclusive Legendary Bundle.
Battlefield 2042 Season One Delayed Until Summer 2022
Furthermore, EA also claimed that this year sees the release of Season One to Season Four, bringing in new Specialists, areas, skins, and weapons.
Here's also a couple of new features launching for Battlefield 2042:
- SCOREBOARD - In our next update, we’ll be adding a refreshed in-round Scoreboard alongside further changes we’ve worked on since the holidays. This will be an ongoing evolution from what was shown in the work in progress we shared recently. We have heard your feedback around including two tables and separating your own team versus the enemy, and are working on incorporating that for the release. K/D scoring and End of Round reporting will also be coming in a future update.
- ALL PLATFORM VOICE COMMUNICATION - The arrival of voice communication (VOIP) is just the start of the improvements we’re bringing to enhance team play and communications.
- PLAYER PROFILE - Giving you a better overview of your career on the battlefield and how far you have to go for your next unlock.
Improvements to Battlefield Portal were also announced, though details on what those improvements remain vague for now. Considering how this was the mode that was hyped up to a lot of fans, it is wise to focus on fixing Battlefield Portal.
Battlefield 2042 is now available on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, and PC. Major updates to the game are expected to come this March, and we'll keep you informed when they drop.
