How to Fly Helicopters in Battlefield 2042

Battlefield 2042 is going to be the biggest entry in the franchise yet, focused solely on multiplayer and introducing new ways of play with Hazard Zone, though familiar elements like military vehicles will still be there, so fans won’t have to worry about using a Helicopter in Battlefield 2042.

Military vehicles are expected to be a major presence in Battlefield 2042, especially with the bigger maps that can hold up to 128 players in next-gen systems, so fans who are hoping to take part in some aerial combat probably want to know how to man the vehicles and use it to their advantage.

How to Fly Helicopters in Battlefield 2042

The Battlefield 2042 Helicopter controls might sound a bit tricky but they should become second-nature to players after enough hours of play, though we suggest using the third-person camera when trying it out for the first time.

It's hard to get used to, but you need extremely precise movements when flying a chopper in Battlefield 2042. When you tilt the helicopter's direction, it will fly that way, as opposed to in other games like Warzone where you hold the left stick to move in a certain direction.

So, if you want to go forward, tilt the stick forward a tiny amount and you should start travelling forward. Tilt it back and you'll hover back where you came from. Chopper piloting is something you'll need to get used to - here's some more specific controls to keep in mind.

How to Take Off and Hover

On PC, players will have to use W on the keyboard to start taking off while console players will have to move the left analogue stick up. If you want to go down, just press S on the keyboard on the PC, while console players just have to move the left analogue stick down.

When the Helicopter is starting to take off, players can make sure the blades are good enough to hover by moving the mouse left and right, while console users will have to use the right analogue stick left and right.

How to Move Forward and Backward

If you’re playing Battlefield 2042 on PC, move the Helicopter forward and backward by moving the mouse up and down respectively, while console players will have to move the right analogue stick up and down for the same directions as well.

How to Turn Left and Right

Now to end the basics with turning left and right on a Battlefield 2042 Helicopter. If you’re on PC, use A to move left and D to move right. Console players will have to use the left analogue stick to move left and right, which can be a bit confusing since you’re switching between the left and right analogue sticks.

Landing

For those that are planning to play support and rescue their teammates with a Battlefield 2042 Helicopter, move to a flat surface, don’t move too fast or bump on any buildings, and eventually hover down moving the right analogue stick on a console or pressing S on the keyboard.

Battlefield 2042 is coming to the PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, and PC on November 19.
