Battlefield 2042 Gets Fan-Made Battle Royale Mode

Back when it was revealed that Battlefield 2042 would be an online-only multiplayer shooter, many fans assumed that the game would be a Battle Royale or at least have some sort of Battle Royale mode. Alas, that didn’t happen.

Thankfully, Battlefield 2042 does have some fun modes in Hazard Zone and Battlefield Portal. Unsurprisingly, fans decided to make their own Battle Royale in Battlefield 2042 through the extensive Battlefield Portal Editor and that has made a ton of people happy.

Battlefield 2042 Gets Fan-Made Battle Royale Mode

Battlefield 2042 player u/chbmg created their own 100-player Battle Royale in the game, letting anyone host the game through this Reddit post. They detailed how the mode will play whilst pointing out that some fine-tuning might still be needed.

This is a custom mode made through the Battlefield Portal editor, so the fact that it's a competent Battle Royale in Battlefield 2042, possibly the only Battle Royale until EA or Ripple Effect change their minds, should be considered a huge accomplishment.

If this custom Battlefield 2042 Battle Royale becomes a hit with players, EA might want to make some changes and add the mode, though considering the number of bugs still in the game that might not happen anytime soon.

Battlefield 2042 is now available on the PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, and PC.
