Battlefield 2042's Hazard Zone is a brand new experience for hardened Battlefield veterans. It brings an extraction-based twist to the standard gameplay structure and forces different approaches to how the game is played. You can only pick one of each specialist for the mode too, so what is the best specialist combination in Hazard Zone?

We'll give you a few squads to choose from, whether you want to go on the offence and charge around the map on wild flanking routes or lock down certain sections of the map, we have you covered.

Mobile, Offensive Squad

This squad is here to swoop in and destroy your enemies before they even have a chance to react. With a great deal of mobility and firepower, you should be able to get in and out of combat zones faster than other squads. Here are the specialists you should be using:

This squad is perfect for quick insertion and extraction. With Sundance's Wingsuit allowing you to swoop in at a moment's notice and pick off a foe before they even know you're there and Mackay's ability to grapple up to the high ground and pick off baddies from an advantageous position, you'll be in a great spot when taking the fight to your enemies.

Angel and Falck are the supports in this squad. Angel keeps your ammunition stocked up as you move around the map getting into fights, whilst Falck can keep your squad topped up with health while on the move. Each and every one of them can pull their weight and you should end up with a fast, hard-to-counter squad.

Defensive and Lockdown

Maybe you fancy making part of the map belong to you entirely? Well, you're in luck. Here's a squad build that'll stop bad guys from taking data drives from your area.

This squad is perfect for a defensive style of play. Boris' sentry turret is perfect for taking out enemies who stray too close to your path. His Sentry Operator trait also lets him spot enemies his turret sees and start helping his mechanical friend out. Speaking of spotting, Casper is the perfect teammate to have on a campy, defensive squad. If you set yourself up in an area and get his drone in the air, you'll be able to spot enemies all over the place.

Irish is another defensive specialist. His DCS Deployable Cover is great for weathering impacts from a specific direction, whilst his APS-36 Shootdown Sentinel is ideal for fighting against incoming baddies raining explosive death on you and Boris' turret.

Finally, Angel is a perfect finisher to this squad. His ability to restore ammo and switch loadouts for you will help a great deal with staying supplied during a gruelling match too.

Flanking Squad

Are you something of a flanker? If you like to play with maximum intel, this is the squad for you to dominate in Hazard Zone.

We love this squad in Hazard Zone. They have so many sneaky tactics to gain the upper hand that work so well together. As mentioned before, Casper's drone can spy on baddies from above, but combined with other potential intel-boosing powers it'll work even better.

Paik's ability to see enemies through walls can be extremely valuable, along with her trait which lets her see where incoming fire is coming from. With good communication, this is amazing, especially coupled with Navin Rao's recon and intel-gathering abilities.

Our final specialist here is Sundance, as their ability to swoop in with a wingsuit to mop up on the flank is super important in finishing off enemy squads. However, if you fancy a different mobility-based specialist - say, Mackay - go for it.
