Back 4 Blood is going to get a lot of people talking when it comes out later this year, as many fans can’t wait to get their hands on this Left 4 Dead successor and it also helps that it will be on Xbox Game Pass at launch.
While the lack of single-player content is a bit disappointing, most fans are planning to play this for the multiplayer anyway and they’re gonna be happy to know that Back 4 Blood will actually support cross-play, with the devs hoping to have it by launch.
Is Back 4 Blood Cross-Platform/Cross-Play?
On Twitter, the official Back 4 Blood account confirmed that there would be cross-play for the game’s beta and is intended for launch, which is code for “it might not arrive at launch but we want it to.”
Granted, it would be awesome if Back 4 Blood launched with cross-play from the get-go but Sony has been noticeably grumply about allowing cross-platform multiplayer and that’ll probably stay the same for this game, though we’re willing to be proven wrong.
Still, being able to play Back 4 Blood on a PS5 with Xbox Series X players is a pretty nifty feature and something that will always make online multiplayer shooters better.
Hopefully, the netcode in Back 4 Blood won’t be a problem once cross-play becomes a thing, which is probably why the devs are making sure it’ll be good for launch or post-launch.
Back 4 Blood will be coming to the PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, and PC.
