For Call of Duty fans, the original Modern Warfare trilogy are some of the very best entries in the history of the first-person shooter franchise.
The first Modern Warfare title redefined the Call of Duty multiplayer alongside an epic storyline set in the near-present day while the second built upon those foundations to create one of the most complete console Call of Duty games ever seen.
For those wanting to take a trip down memory lane, the single-player campaigns from the first and second Modern Warfare titles are available to play, complete with updated graphics and more.
With two out of three campaigns receiving a remaster, when can we expect the Modern Warfare 3 campaign to be remastered? Here’s everything we know.
Modern Warfare 3 Campaign Remastered Release Date
Over the past 12 months, there have been rumours surrounding the potential release of a remastered Modern Warfare 3 campaign.
Since they were first reported back in April 2020, the rumour mill went silent.
Although more reports surrounding a release are beginning to emerge, Activision has yet to reveal any official release date for the game, but if we look back at the Modern Warfare 2 campaign remaster release date, it could be just a few months away!

Modern Warfare 3 Campaign Remastered Developer
As with the first two remasters, it is likely that Raven Software will be spearheading the development of the Modern Warfare 3 remaster.
Raven did an exceptional job in upgrading the Modern Warfare 2 campaign, so it would make a lot of sense for it to give the Modern Warfare 3 campaign a makeover.
Modern Warfare 3 Campaign Remastered Price
If we look back at the Modern Warfare 2 remaster, the price can be expected to be around the £20 mark.
Considering that players will be getting their hands on just the campaign, this may seem a bit steep but given the quality of the first two remasters, we think that it will be money well spent!
Modern Warfare 3 Campaign Remastered Trailer
A fully-fledged trailer for the Modern Warfare 3 remaster has yet to be revealed by Activision or Raven Software.
Modern Warfare 3 Remastered Multiplayer
One of the main talking points when the Modern Warfare 2 remaster released was the lack of multiplayer.
While the idea of scoring four kills from a noob-tube over the top of Wasteland sounded appealing to many players, a remastered multiplayer for MW2 never materialised and although it was disappointing for some, it’s logical to see why Activision wouldn’t want any focus to be taken away from Warzone or Black Ops Cold War.
Modern Warfare 3 contained arguably one of the best multiplayers ever seen in the franchise and a fully remastered version would certainly go down well but with the immense popularity of Black Ops Cold War and Warzone, a multiplayer is unlikely to feature.
