Said to be the largest drop of free content in the history of the franchise, Season One has ushered in a wave of changes for both titles.
One of the more significant changes is the addition of the entire Black Ops Cold War weapon arsenal into Warzone.
One of the new additions to the arsenal is the M60 light machine gun. We’ve seen the likes of the Bruen Mk9 change the metagame, could the M60 do the same?
In this guide, find the best attachments to use on the M60 along with the best loadout to assist you on the path to victory.
This fully-automatic LMG comes with an extremely large magazine as standard, freeing up an additional attachment slot which can be used to improve mobility.
With it being a huge weapon, mobility is slow, especially when sprinting. With slow movement speeds, it can hinder your movement across the map and it can be tricky to evade any incoming gunfire quickly.
Although its fire rate is much slower than other weapons in the category, it is easy to control when firing and comes with minimal damage drop-off, meaning it can be used in long-distance skirmishes.
Thanks to the Gunsmith, there are a range of attachments that can be equipped, but what exactly is the best combination?
M60 Best Attachments
- 22.8” Match Grade (Barrel)
- Axial Arms 3x (Optic)
- SAS Combat Stock (Stock)
- SASR Jungle Grip (Rear Grip)
- Field Agent Grip (Underbarrel)
This particular combination of attachments further increases its damage and range, enabling the M60 to be extremely strong in mid to long-range combat.
To improve levels of mobility, the combination of stock and rear grip makes the LMG much easier to use when aiming and moving simultaneously and also increases speed when shooting and moving at the same time.
The iron sights aren’t exactly the best on the M60 so for an additional boost of accuracy, we selected the Axial Arms 3x optic to see any opposition at any range imaginable.
- Muzzle Brake 9 (Muzzle)
- 6.7” VDV Reinforced (Barrel)
- Steady Aim Laser (Laser)
- No Stock (Stock)
- Speed Tape (Rear Grip)
The M60 is difficult to control in close-quarters encounters despite the additional attachments, so we have selected the Bullfrog SMG as a high-impact secondary weapon.
With plenty of bullets in the magazine and a set of attachments that allow you to snap onto a target in an instant, it’s the ideal addition to conquer any situation on the streets of Verdansk or in the confines of Rebirth Island.
- Semtex (Lethal)
- Decoy Grenade (Tactical)
Semtex can prove advantageous over a frag grenade as it can be thrown faster, making it the best grenade to use if you need to deal some additional damage quickly.
The decoy grenade may not be the most popular piece of tactical equipment to use but it is certainly effective to draw out an opponent into the open and to eliminate them with ease.
- Double Time (Perk 1)
- Overkill (Perk 2)
- Battle Hardened (Perk 3)
Double Time further improves mobility by doubling the length of Tactical Sprint while Overkill enables you to equip a second primary weapon to increase versatility.
Battle Hardened is arguably the best Perk to select in the final category thanks to its ability to increase your resistance to any enemy flash and stun grenades, allowing you to maintain focus in a gunfight.
