Cyberpunk 2077 is finally here, but PS5 owners have noted a consistent crash occurring during longer play sessions.
As reported by PushSquare, when playing the PS4 game on Sony's latest system, the software crashes after an hour and a half or so of uninterrupted play.
Cyberpunk 2077 Crashing On PS5
PushSquare notes that the issue tends to be tied to loading of new areas in the game, either through scene changes within narrative beats or through free roam.
The site has been in touch with CD Projekt Red, so hopefully, if it's a common issue it can be patched soon.
It's a real shame because PS5 is the only PlayStation console capable of running the game at 60fps.
It's still early days (the game officially launched today), but it's something to consider if you're playing the PS4 version of the game via backwards compatibility.
Thankfully, CD Projekt Red has just rolled out a 1.03 patch that does aim to fix "sporadic crashes on PS4 and Xbox One/S", so maybe the crashing issue will be short-lived.
