Destiny 2 Beyond Light may have only dropped a few weeks ago, but players may soon have some new content to explore!
Though, you’ll have to stay offline to give it a go.
If you aren’t quite high enough level for the Raid yet, get off the grind for a minute, grab your fireteam and enter the world of tabletop RPGs, with a Destiny DnD campaign that just hit its v1.0 release!
Here’s everything you need to know so you can enjoy the 5th Edition Dungeons & Dragons inspired project, Dungeons & Destiny.
What are tabletop RPGs?
You’ve almost certainly heard Dungeons & Dragons, but there are so many other options out there!
Though whether you’re playing Monster of the Week, Lasers and Feelings or Blades in the Dark, they all follow a few simple rules.
First, you’ll need dice. Some TTRPGs only require one kind, say a six-sided die (or d6) while others use a larger array, with d4s all the way up to the iconic d20.
Then you and your friends will make characters while another person, the Game Master (or whatever name the game uses), prepares a story for you to play out.
Using your character’s abilities, the game’s rules and the luck of the dice you will go on some crazy adventures in far-flung worlds, from fantasy to cyberpunk and beyond!
Now you can even venture into the world of Destiny!
How to Play Dungeons and Destiny
If you want to give this fan-project a go, all you’ll have to do is head over to their official website here!
You’ll be able to find everything they have made public completely for free.
And don’t be put off by the ‘fan-made’ part, the setting is made with the blessings of Bungie and truly honours the original source material.
The cover art is amazing by the way! Source: Dungeons & Destiny
Though it does take a few liberties, letting you play as unconventional Vex and Cabal Guardians amongst others!
Once you have the v1.0 Player’s Guidebook, Bestiary of the Wild, and Game Master’s Guide, you and your friends will be set.
And don’t worry if you can’t meet up in person, while that is the best way to play any TTRPG, Discord and a few dice rolling plugins are more than good enough!
