Who's next?

Super Smash Bros Ultimate is currently THRIVING and is showing no signs of slowing down.

The Switch title is well into its second Fighters Pass that already contains Min-Min from ARMS and Steve from Minecraft.

But who will the 8th DLC be? That's a question that is on everyone's minds.

Steve has opened up new possibilities, becoming Xbox's second property to enter the colourful fighting game.

While it may be sometime before we see the next character, when will they join us?

There's plenty of questions and we have all of the answers!

Here's what we know about Smash Ultimate's 8th DLC.

Smash Ultimate DLC 8 Release Date

The third character in the Fighters Pass Vol. 2 does not have a confirmed release date at this time.

We're anticipating the next DLC character to release in early 2021 - at a guess, we're expecting it to be in late January or early February.

This is due to the fact that the time between the first and second DLC was roughly three months, so we expect something similar here.

Just like the Fighter packs that proceeded, it will cost GB £5.39/US $5.99/CA $7.55.

If you're looking to buy the full Fighters Pass, it will cost GB £26.99/US $29.99/CA $37.79.

Who Will Be The New Character?

In all honesty, there's simply no telling who the next character will be. Nintendo is very good at keeping their new characters a secret.

The frontrunner is Crash Bandicoot, although that seems to be the case anytime a DLC is announced.

A leak surfaced a while back with a lot of incorrect information stating that Crash would be DLC 7. It seemed like the stars were aligning as Crash had just released his first unique adventure for over 10 years and has been a highly sought-after character from fans.

Recent rumours have also suggested that a Trials of Cold Steel crossover could be coming to the game.

Meanwhile, Xbox has also been stirring the pot about potentially getting the Master Chief involved. With Halo Infinite delayed, could this be a tactical ploy from Microsoft to regain focus in the build-up to launch?

What Will Challenger Pack 8 Include?

As before, the new Challenger pack will include the usual items:

  • New Characters
  • New Stage
  • Music Tracks

The number of Music tracks can vary. Min Min brought 18 with her (the highest in history), while Steve only brought 7 (the lowest in history).

So you can expect a good number of tracks to be added with the pack.
