The weapon arsenal on Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War is full of weapons that caters for every single style of play imaginable.
The fifth instalment of the Black Ops series contains a brand-new multiplayer consisting of an innovative Create-A-Class system, new level progression and more.
Tactical Rifles is a small selection of heavy rifles that pack a hefty punch when in the right hands. Ranging from semi-automatic to burst firing mechanics, these rifles are deadly in long-range engagements but at close-quarters, there are several weapons that have the upper hand.
The DMR 14 heavily resembles a classic CoD weapon, and with this particular loadout, it is very easy to go on a rampage.
With a wide selection of attachments to equip, what’s the best loadout for this semi-automatic beast?

DMR 14 Tactical Rifle
The DMR 14 is unlocked at Level 49, and is a variation of the M14 which has made appearances in several Call of Duty titles.
Thanks to the semi-automatic firing mechanism, fire rate is determined on how fast your trigger finger is, meaning that there is potential to deal plenty of damage extremely quickly.
The low recoil levels make it a firm favourite for those that prefer to overlook a busy area of the map, but its lack of accuracy when firing from the hip hinders its effectiveness when up close and personal with the opposition.
DMR 14 Best Attachments
- Millstop Reflex (Optic)
- Silencer (Muzzle)
- 17” Rapid Fire (Barrel)
- Infiltrator Grip (Underbarrel)
- Raider Stock (Stock)
This combination of attachments further increases the rate of fire, enabling you to take down an enemy even quicker than before.
By selecting the Infiltrator Grip and the Raider Stock, both movement speed and aim walking movement speed is increased. This allows you to outmanoeuvre enemies quickly and easily.
DMR 14: Silent but deadly
- 6.5” Takedown (Barrel)
- Steady Aim Laser (Body)
- 24 RND (Magazine)
- Speed Tape (Handle)
- Dual Wield (Stock)
As the famous saying goes, “switching to your pistol is always faster than reloading.” With this loadout, this is certainly the case.
Switching to this particular Diamatti build is certainly an advantage in many close-range confrontations. Having access to two of these burst-fire pistols is the perfect crutch to fall back on when you find yourself in a sticky close-range situation.
The large amount of explosive damage that C4 deals is perfect for dealing with any form of enemy resistance.
Whether it’s clearing out multiple players off an objective or getting the upper hand of a tank in Combined Arms, C4 is one of the most versatile pieces of equipment to use in Black Ops Cold War.
- Stun Grenade
Like the C4, it’s hard to go wrong with a stun grenade. Thanks to the Wildcard selection, you’ll have access to use two stuns to disorient any opponents heading your way.
The effects of a stun grenade wear off quickly so don’t be afraid to use both in order to secure an elimination.
- Proximity Mine
Proximity Mines are one of the best ways to deter any opponents trying to flank behind you and your teammates.
With few flanking routes on the vast majority of maps in Black Ops Cold War, place a proxy mine somewhere along the lane and wait for the elimination to appear.
On paper, this selection of Perks looks incredibly confusing but all three have their uses during a match.
Paranoia alerts you when an enemy outside of your view has clocked your position, Gearhead decreases Field Upgrade cooldown and enables you to carry two Proximity Mines, and Spycraft grants immunity to any Counter Spy Plane effects, giving you a clear view of the minimap for the entire game.
- Danger Close
Selecting Danger Close as your Wildcard gives you access to two pieces of Lethal and Tactical equipment and additional ammunition, giving you the ability to deal plenty of damage for a prolonged period of time.
