Time To Put The Pad Down.

The process of turning off your new PS5 console is a little bit different to how you might have been used to turning off your PS4.

So if you're looking for a quick guide which might help you get to grips with the new control scheme, we've created this quick guide for you.

Be sure to keep reading though, as we've more guides we'll be adding further down the page to help you out.

How To Turn Off The PS5 Using Your DualSense Controller?

To turn off your PS5 console without having to get up and push the button on the front, you need only follow a few quick steps using your DualSense controller.

We've outlined these steps for you, just below:

1 - First go to the PS5 control centre menu, which you can access by pressing the PlayStation logo on your DualSense controller.

2 - In the control centre scroll all the way to the right-hand side to the power button.

3 - Click the power button and you'll be presented with three options to power down your console.

4 - This includes 'Enter Rest Mode', 'Turn Off PS5' and 'Restart PS5'

5 - Select your desired option from the three choices. In this case, you want 'Turn Off PS5'

Do note that if you decide to turn off the PS5, the console will start to power down but it's not immediate.

A message will appear which reads: "Preparing to turn off your PS5... Don't unplug the AC power cord when the power indicator on your PS5 is lit or blinking."
