PS5 Gets Pre-Launch Price Cut In Brazil

Perfect timing, we reckon.

PS5 is launching this month, and there's good news for customers in Brazil.

The South-American nation has often got the short end of the stick when it comes to console prices, but the console has got a pre-launch price cut.

PS5 Gets Pre-Launch Price Cut In Brazil

Both the digital and standard editions of the console have received price drops, as well as accessories, bringing it closer in line with prices in the rest of the world.

Here are the changes, as reported by the PlayStation Blog (via Resetera):

  • PS5 Digital Edition – Was R$4,499, Now R$4,199
  • PS5 Standard Edition – Was R$4,999, Now R$4,699
  • Dualsense Controller – Was R$499, Now R$469
  • PS5 Camera – Was R$449, Now R$419

The price drop has been caused by tax cuts in the country, which also lowered the price of Xbox Series X and S in recent weeks.

Unfortunately, anyone in Brazil looking to pick up Sony's machine will have to wait until November 19, with the console only shipping to United States, Japan, Canada, Mexico, Australia, New Zealand and South Korea on the initial launch date of November 12.
