Which engine will it use?

Black Ops Cold War's gameplay is out in the wild and Treyarch's next game looks incredible.

COD 2020 will see Treyarch and Raven Software collaborate to create this year's FPS juggernaut, with Beenox helping to develop the PC side of things.

The Black Ops 1 sequel brings in familiar faces to support the campaign mode such as Alex Mason, Frank Woods and Jason Hudson.

With the integration of Warzone and Black Ops Cold War happening in December now, there have been a lot of questions regarding the games engine.

Now, a developer has addressed these issues.

Art Lead Comments

The future integration of Warzone and Black Ops Cold War has been a major talking point this week.

Little is known about what this entails, but that has not stopped the community from asking questions.

One, in particular, has been the engine in which Warzone will run on when it eventually merges over.

Now, a recent thread on by user ‘ShutterMunster' who is a verified Art Lead at Activision has commented on this issue.

Replying to an original comment which stated:

It should be noted it is a bit of speculation. I can't see them changing engines when MW's engine handles big maps and player counts much better. Not to mention Warzone will continue to be cross-gen, so you don't want to change your game to the worse performing engine that is struggling on previous gen.

ShutterMunster has confirmed for now that Warzone will not experience an engine change.

So, for now, we know that the game will not have a significant engine change when it merges over in December.

We will have to wait and see for more news regarding the integration!
