Plant the spike on the go!

Valorant fans may be preparing for a new Agent, but it looks as though Riot Games' tactical shooter could be making the jump to another platform – mobile.

While we already know that League of Legends is coming to iOS and Android in the coming months with Wild Rift, how will Valorant fare on a smaller screen?

Here's everything we know.

Valorant On iOS and Android

What is Valorant?

If you've not got a gaming PC, you may have missed the buzz around Valorant. Coming from Riot Games, the developer behind the insanely popular League of Legends, it's a five-on-five tactical shooter.

Playing like a hybrid between the classic CS:GO format of attacking and defending bomb sites, it also offers characters with their own abilities, not unlike Overwatch.

Gunplay is king, but these abilities can still swing a match in your team's favour.

How its precise shooting mechanics and wealth of intricate systems like peeking and boosting will translate to a touchscreen, though, is anyone's guess.

Release Date

Don't expect any news soon, with Valorant's PC version remaining incredibly popular as we approach the end of the year.

Still, numerous pieces of code have suggested that the game is in development for iOS, such as the leak below from @ValorantExpress.

It's highly unlikely the game will end up as an iOS exclusive, so expect some Android code to surface in the near future.

What's Riot Saying?

Fresh off of showing off League of Legends: Wild Rift at Apple's iPhone 12 keynote, Riot's CEO Nicolo Laurent has been discussing the potential of 5G connectivity.
