2018's God of War game has received a new patch, over two years after release.
While there are some fixes included, it looks as though the patch could be aimed at getting the game ready for PlayStation 5's arrival next month.
God of War 1.34 Patch Notes: PS5 Backwards Compatibility Confirmed
Last week, Sony Santa Monica tweeted to confirm that both God of War 2018 and God of War 3 Remastered will be available via backwards compatibility on PS5:
The full patch notes are incredibly slim, but there's a good chance a lot of the tweaks are behind the scenes.
- Added fixes for crashing and freezing issues with God Of War 1.34.
- Added fixes for stuttering and lag issues.
- God Of War 1.34 added various performance and stability improvements.
In case you're wondering, God of War 3 Remastered also got a patch.
It makes sense for Sony to try and bring as many of the franchise's titles forward as possible in the leadup to God of War: Ragnarok, slated for 2021.

While fans are undoubtedly disappointed that Kratos' first and second adventures didn't make it to PS4, having God of War 3 is a great way to introduce yourself to the series' prior gameplay.
It originally launched in 2010 (has it already been a decade?) and the re-release launched in 2015.
