RPG royalty returns.

Baldur's Gate 3, Larian Studio's long-awaited RPG, brings the franchise back into the limelight after 20 years.

The studio behind the excellent Divinity: Original Sin series, expect it to be a huge game full of choices to make and systems upon systems to learn and master.

With the game launching into Early Access after a couple of delays, here's how you can play it - and how much it'll cost you.

The game will launch on Steam at 18:00 BST on October 6, meaning we're just over a day away.

That news comes from the developer itself, who responded to a fan's tweet with the time:

Once that release time comes, you'll be able to snap up the game, but how much will it cost?

The early access version of the game will retail at full price ($60), and will offer around 20 hours of gameplay.

As you can imagine, early access customers will be able to get the full game as part of that payment.

The early access version of the game features the game's first act, with the next two coming in the months following.

When discussing the decision to release the game in early access, the studio had this to say on the game's Steam page:

“We’ve learned that working directly with our players during development makes our games better. RPGs this large, with so many permutations, thrive from feedback as new features and fixes are incrementally added to the game."

"Early Access gives players a chance to participate in development and it gives us an opportunity to explore different game ideas with a live community. We want to learn how you play the game and use that to make it a better experience for everyone."

Considering the amount of variables and gameplay opportunities in the Divinity games, it's perhaps unsurprising that the team at Larian is hoping that players will help contribute to the development of Baldur's Gate 3.
