Dishonored is one of this generation's most underrated franchise, but it retains a fervent fanbase.
With Microsoft buying Bethesda, there's a chance Arkane can return to the story of Emily Kaldwin and Corvo Attano, something we'd love to see.
Here's everything we know so far about Dishonored 3.

Harvey Smith and Arkane Reunited – January 7th
Dishonored's co-creator Harvey Smith has revealed that he's working with Arkane on a new game, and it isn't Deathloop.
Speaking to Spanish outlet Vandal, Smith confirmed that he's working on something with “the guys who made Dishonored and Prey”.
Could it be a return to the franchise?
Release Date
Woah there, hold your horses. There's a good chance that the game isn't even in development yet.
Arkane Studios, the team that worked on the franchise up until now, have their hands full with PlayStation 5 and Windows exclusive Deathloop, due in 2021.
That means that even if a third Dishonored game is in development, it could be a long time before we see it.
But the studio is currently hiring for an unannounced AAA game.
Dishonored co-creator Harvey Smith is also working on a new game with Arkane, as revealed in an interview with Spanish site Vandal.
Platforms
With Microsoft's recent acquisition of Bethesda, expect a third Dishonored game to launch on Xbox platforms as well as PC.
Of course, it could still come to PlayStation, with Xbox boss Phil Spencer stating that Bethesda will run "semi-independently".
Not all games will be made exclusive and will be decided on a case-by-case basis.
Protagonist and Powers
Back in 2017, lead designer Ricardo Bare said that the franchise is "resting", but the studio later clarified that there hadn't necessarily been a decision made to put the series on hold.
Co-director Dinga Bakaba noted that the team would not choose to revisit existing characters, instead focusing on a new protagonist.
In Dishonored, players step into the shoes of Corvo Attano, and the sequel allowed the choice to play as either Corvo or his daughter, Emily Kaldwin.
Death of the Outsider, a standalone expansion, let players play as Billie Lurk as she conspires with the assassin Daud to kill the god-like Outsider.
Each offers their own spin on traversal and combat powers, and we'd expect there to be some similarities going forward.
