It's been a good few months since the last big Steam sale came and went.
So naturally, PC players are going to start wondering how long is left before they can make some massive savings.
Thankfully, a new steam sale is right around the corner, ready to give your wallet a well-deserved break from those increasingly skyrocketing video game prices.
Despite Valve keeping incredibly tight-lipped about when they hold these big Steam sales, they're normally leaked well in advance.
And even if they (somehow) don't leak through the Steam database, the times and dates of when they take place are more or less identical from one year to the next, so they're not hard to predict.
When is the next Steam sale?
The next Steam sale we can look forward to is the 2020 Halloween Steam Sale.
Valve usually holds the autumnal sale in late October to coincide with the spooky holiday.
When does the next Steam sale begin?
Steam sales take place right across the year and generally speaking it's not too hard to work out 'roughly' when a Steam sale will take place, judging by past events.
For instance, we normally see the below steam sales taking place at roughly the same time each year, usually beginning on a Thursday:
- Steam Lunar New Year Sale 2020: Usually kicks off around January 20 lasting until January 27
- Steam Spring Sale 2020: Usually towards the end of May - although it didn't take place in 2020
- Steam Summer Sale 2020: Normally from June 25 until around July 9
- Steam Halloween Sale 2020: This spooktacular sale normally begins a few days before October 31.
We can also say with some assurance that most of these sales get started in the evening for folk in the UK.
Typically we'll see these sales behind at roughly 6pm BST / 1pm EDT / 10am PDT.
In the case of the next Steam sale, which is the Halloween Sale for 2020, we suspect that we'll see the sale begin on Thursday 29 October 2020.
This lines up with the fan-run website 'www.whenisthenextsteamsale.com' who are normally right with their predictions each year.
On the site currently, the Halloween sale is predicted to start on October 29, 2020 (roughly five weeks).
It is worth keeping in mind this isn't fact and is at best, a good bet without being 100% confirmed.
To echo what the website states: “Valve never announces Steam sale dates upfront, but Steam sales return every year in a relatively stable frequency.
“Based on data from the last few years, the upcoming sale dates are predicted."
Needless to say though, it shouldn't be long before you can start making some spooky savings that we're hoping will be dead good.
