NVIDIA RTX 3080 Release Date
NVIDIA has been teasing the ‘30 Series’ for quite a while, but on September 1st we were at last given concrete information about when these new cards will be in our hands.
The GeForce RTX 3080 is scheduled for release on September 17th and is expected to be a very popular purchase with PC gamers this winter.
Alternatively, the RTX 3090 will be releasing on September 24th, and the RTX 3070 is due for launch sometime in October.
NVIDIA RTX 3080 Price
Priced at £649/$699, NVIDIA is undercutting most of AMD’s current graphic cards while offering a significant generational leap to boot.
If you’re upgrading from anything that’s less than the ‘1000’ series, you can probably expect 60FPS on a 1440P resolution with this card.
Alongside the graphics card, anybody who buys an RTX 3080 from selected retailers until October 29 will also get a free copy of Watch Dogs Legion and a year’s subscription to GeForce Now.
NVIDIA RTX 3080 Pre Order
NVIDIA is not taking pre-orders on the RTX 3080, instead, they’re skipping straight to the release day before you can order one of the cards.
The stock of the card is expected to be in short supply due to the overwhelming pre-release demand for this exceptional card, so if you’re in the market for one you better be quick before they're all gone.
NVIDIA RTX 3080 Specs
The RTX 3080 is based on the ‘Ampere’ architecture so it’s no surprise that it’s an absolute beast. Below are the official specs:
- CUDA Cores: 8,704
- Boost Clock: 1.71GHz
- VRAM: 10GB GDDR6X
- Memory Interface: 320-bit
- TDP: 320W
- Required power connectors: 2 x PCIe 8-pin
Bear in mind that a card this beefy is going to need some serious power to run, NVIDIA is recommending a power supply of at least 750W.
