PlayStation 5 is coming this year, and a new State of Play has been confirmed for August 6, confirming earlier leaks.
Sony's new console won't be the main focus, though, as we'll be hearing more about PS4 and PSVR titles, as well as updates on third-party and indie titles from the June event.
PlayStation 5 Event Leaked?
Check out the official tweet below, which probably rules out the previous 4Chan leaks for the likes of Silent Hill, a Metal Gear Solid collection, and Persona 4 ports.
State of Play returns Thursday at 1:00pm Pacific!— PlayStation (@PlayStation) August 3, 2020
What to expect:
▪️ A focus on upcoming PS4 & PS VR games
▪️ A few quick check-ins on third-party and indie games from June’s PS5 showcase
▪️ No big PS5 announcements!

State of Play events have offered a mixed bag since their debut, but Sony setting expectations should be applauded - not that anyone will listen, of course.
We expect Bugsnax to make an appearance, and we'd very much like to hear more about Resident Evil 8, especially after recent rumours of VR functionality.
As far as upcoming PS4 titles, Ghost of Tsushima and Iron Man VR essentially marked the last "big" PS4 exclusives, so it's likely the news will be third-party focused - maybe even Call of Duty.
Luckily, we'll find out in just over a week.
