Call of Duty Black Ops Cold War Will Star Frank Woods, Not Alex Mason, According To Leaker

Everyone's favourite foul-mouthed soldier takes the starring role, apparently.

Call of Duty 2020 might have been revealed as Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War through a bag of Doritos, but even more information has come to light.

While we've previously heard about the campaign's setting, we now have word on the game's main protagonist, with Frank Woods filling the role.

Call of Duty 2020 To Star Frank Woods

As tweeted by @dkdynamite1 (and retweeted by erstwhile leaker TheGamingRevolution), Woods will be the game's main protagonist. The addition of "main" suggests perspective could shift (something common for the franchise), but this should all be taken with a pinch of salt as all leaks should.

Woods was a supporting character in the original Black Ops, and returned as an older, wheelchair-bound version in its immediate sequel.

A man who sure does love his four-letter words, he makes an interesting choice as a protagonist in place of Alex Mason. Mason was a bit of a blank slate, played by Sam Worthington of Avatar fame, and was never really that interesting. Woods is hardly a nuanced character himself, but we can probably at least expect some humour - that is if this incarnation of the character is similar to the original.
