Nintendo Looking To Bring IP To Non-Gaming Audiences, Annual Report Reveals

Nintendo's annual report suggests that the company is looking to broaden its horizons by delivering "its entertainment to a wider range of consumers than ever before by recognizing Nintendo IP as its strength".

The company is looking to engage customers outside of the videogame space, which makes sense - an animated Mario movie has been in the works for some time, along with the long-awaited Nintendo theme park, Super Nintendo World and the recent Lego collaboration.

Nintendo Expanding Outside of Gaming?

“The Company group is seeking to deliver its entertainment to a wider range of consumers than ever before by recognizing Nintendo IP (including characters and worlds from its games) as its strength, in addition to developing integrated hardware-software products,” the report explains.

“As a company that creates entertainment to bring smiles to people’s faces, Nintendo strives to create new forms of entertainment while maintaining a robust business structure."
