COD Mobile Season 9 Release Date
Season 9 was originally set to arrive on 6th August 2020, but it looks like it will now arrive on the 11th/12th.
This is when the Season 8 Battle Pass finishes - usually, the update for the new season arrives a few days prior to the new season start.
In the recently released Season 9 servers, new maps have been found and it looks like they will be arriving in Season 9 and onwards.
First up is the very familiar Gunfight map, Pine, from Modern Warfare 2019 - according to @CODM_Updates.
Next up this the much anticipated Terminal map, according to @CODM_Updates, which was part of an Activision community poll in January, where they asked which previous maps players would like to see in COD: Mobile.
@CODMobile_ES has also confirmed that Pine and Terminal will be arriving, as well as two other maps called Rebirth and Breakdown.
All options in the community pool have been released, apart from Dome and Shipment. Many believed Shipment was meant to arrive in Season 6 or 7, but we've still yet to see it arrive.
The map made an appearance in the pre-alpha gameplay trailer, so it is likely it is within the game files.
Tunisia has also yet to be released.
@CODM_Updates has also confirmed that the MW2 map Museum will be available in 1v1 and 2v2 modes.
Battle Pass, Theme And Main Menu Changes
So far not much has been revealed about the Battle Pass, other than the fact that Viktor Reznov and a WW2 character skin will be available.
The overriding consensus is that we will have a WW2 theme next season, or contain a WW2 event.
This is also confirmed by @CODM_Murdablast.
The Main Menus will also change, sporting an image of Firing Range and what looks like a very WW2 themed scene.
COD Zombies was removed all the way back in Season 4.
The COD Mobile team had said that they didn't believe the game mode was up to standard to come back to previous seasons but we're hoping they have worked on it and it could be making another appearance.
Data-miners found game files involving Richtofen, one of the four main characters in COD: Mobile Zombies.
This could be linked to the return of the much-loved game mode, or it could just be a new playable option in Multiplayer and Battle Royale.
If it does return we should see maps such as Nacht Der Untoten (confirmed by development) and Tranzit (which has is yet to release although there is footage of it online).
@CODM_Updates tweeted that the Rebirth Island zombies map from the original Call of Duty Black Ops was found within the game files recently.
Perhaps this will be apart of the new season?
In the Season 9 test server, the Shield Turret scorestreak has been added.
The Lightning Strike is still yet to be added to the game, despite many screenshots showing it in-game even before last season.
A new Operator Skill has been added called the Equalizer, which is "dual integrated machine guns with built-in suppressors for close-quarters combat."
This Operator skill takes inspiration from Synaptic's Payload in Infinite Warfare.
CODM_Updates posted a brand new Operator SKill that was revealed recently. Officially it is called 'Shadow Blade' and has the following description:
'Swiftly kill enemies at close range while also detecting hostiles within the shroud of any smoke grenade'
@CODM_Updates has confirmed that 3 new multiplayer perks are coming to the game:
- Restock - Recharge equipment over 20 seconds. Replenish 1 extra Combat Axe
- Amped - Take advantage of faster weapon swap and launcher reload speed (excluding swapping to pistols and melee).
- High Alert - Your vision pulses when enemies outside of your view see you. Mark enemy and their equipment, scorestreak by aiming down sights.
Weapons, Loadouts, Gunsmith And Attachments
A Reddit user has spotted the 48-Dredge on the Season 9 test server.
Players will now be granted 10 loadout classes in Season 9
You will also get the brand new Gunsmith customisation options, similar to Modern Warfare 2019.
Guns will also get new attachments in the form of sights and scopes.
Not only that, but a few new red dot sights are being added with customisable looks.
The new Thermite equipment will be added to COD Mobile, according to @CODM_Updates. If you've played Modern Warfare or Warzone, you'll be rather familiar with it.
It works very similarly to the Molotov Cocktail but has the ability to stick to an object and burn.
The M249 SAW will be making an appearance in COD: Mobile soon.
All the way back in Season 4, @CODM_Updates shared a few new weapons that they believed should have arrived in Season 4 - any of these could also be coming to the game.
The KRM-262, is a pump-action shotgun from Black Ops 3, it was discovered in the game files of COD Mobile.
The G36 has also been spotted in test servers and has asked for feedback from players.
@CODMobile_ES shows the model for an MP5 weapon.
FInally, a new map is being added to the Battle Royale and it is a port of the Alcatraz map from Black Ops 4's Blackout.

According to @CODM_Updates, up to 14 weapons could be added to COD Mobile Season 9 (although it is unlikely all 14 will be added at once).
It also seems a new class called "Hacker" is coming. Hacker will come with two abilities:
- Ice Pick - Blackout the mini-maps of all nearby enemies, and prevent them from using gadgets
- Hard Wired - Mini-map will not be blocked by interference nor detected by the enemy
