Animal Crossing New Horizons players have been filling their museum with artwork since Redd arrived post-launch, but you can also receive artwork through the in-game mail system.
These pieces are sent by your island neighbours, and reliable dataminer Ninji has revealed some new facets to the system via Twitter.
Keep up to date with everything Animal Crossing by watching below!
Essentially, it all comes down to your neighbours' personalities. Here's the Tweet.
Today's weird #ACNH fact: You can randomly receive art pieces in the mail from villagers— Ninji 🇪🇺🏴🇬🇮 (@_Ninji) May 22, 2020
Assuming that I've understood the system correctly:
- Jock and Lazy may send any piece, real or fake
- Smug will only send fake pieces
- Cranky will only send sculptures (real or fake)
That means if your island is full of "Smug" villagers, you might want to think about moving them on to avoid an influx of fake artwork.
Those aren't the only personalities, and at the time of writing, we don't know what the deal is with normal, peppy, sisterly or snooty villagers. We'll update this page if we hear more.
