Fortnite is undergoing another update, here's what's changed for your Battle Royale matches.

Fortnite has undergone its weekly update, and we've emerged ready to fight in v12.50 of the Battle Royale.

There are loads of new announcements, including Limited-Time modes and bug fixes, so players should be happy with the work Epic is doing behind the scenes; with even a few nods to Chapter 2 Season 3.

However, there's also plenty of new weapons and events lurking in the game code that we expect to see soon enough.

Without further ado, here's what Fortnite v12.50 has in store!

What's New In Fortnite v12.50?

The Doomsday Device ticks closer to its destination in Fortnite v12.50.

Fortnite downtime has just ended, meaning v12.50 is truly here. While we're expecting the Doomsday Device to rumble onwards towards its inevitable conclusion, there are lots of exciting changes in this update.

As well as the normal bug fixes, we've got details on all the new updates and plenty of stuff from the code that we're expecting to see.

What follows are changes to Aim Assist and a brand new Party Royale event, as well as some unconfirmed updates which are found in the game code, but areas of yet unconfirmed for v12.50. However, we expect to see them sooner rather than later.

There are also new skins and shop items - including the ability to buy EXP!

Aim Assist Nerf

Aim Assist has finally been nerfed in Fortnite v12.50.

The biggest change is a nerf to Aim Assist, something players have been calling for for a long time. A message to players reads:

"This build includes an AA change which makes 240hz AA act like 60hz AA, which does impact target acquisition. Investigations and tests are ongoing regarding aim assist, and your feedback is appreciated."

Party Royale Event

Fortnite Party Royale is the latest Limted-Time Mode to hit the Battle Royale.

This unforeseen Limited-Time Mode is coming May 1, and we think players will drop to an all-new island to join the party.

"Welcome to the Party! Leave your weapons and mats behind and hang out with friends, play games, perfect your skydive and more. The party’s just getting started!"

New Fortnite Limited Time Mode: The Arsenic

This LTM has been in the works for a while, as shown by its status in the game files. Either called The Arsenic or Infected, it's a new Limited-Time Mode where players can be turned into zombies and everyone else has to survive.

Epic needs to tread very carefully with this mode, as a deadly virus game mode feels a little too on-the-nose regarding what's currently happening in the real world. Avoiding the phrase "Infected" might be a start...

New Weapons In Fortnite: Battle Royale

Fortnite v12.50 may introduce a Silenced version of fan favourite Dual Pistols.

There have been a couple of new weapons in the game's code since the v12.40 update when they were leaked by dataminers.

The first is dual pistols like you've never seen them before - they have silencers. Handy if you're sneaking up on an enemy, they'll likely take the shape of something similar to Deadpool's Pistols.

However, the other weapon is a little more exciting. The Charge Shotgun deals huge damage - which increases when you charge it up. Leaker HYPEX found the maths of how the damage stacks up, and it looks to be big.

Rumours suggest the Charge Shotgun could be of Mythic rarity, due to the huge damage it can do.
