Not only did we receive a slew of new information, but we got a first look at some images of the design.
With the features in mind, as you may have guessed by the name, the big focus is on the senses.
The DualSense Controller offers a new and refined haptic feedback feature, that has the ability to capture a wider range of motions, such as "slow grittiness of driving a car through mud".
The blog also mentions adaptive trigger buttons that can dynamically change their tension for different activities, meaning, driving uphill in a truck will feel very different from firing a machine gun (which we assume is true).
Another interesting feature is users will be able to talk to friends without the need for a headset, using the built-in microphone.
Possibly the biggest change that Sony has embraced, is the two-toned color aesthetic.
They've changed up the shoulder buttons by altering the angle of them, and given the whole devices an overall rounder shape, with two sexy light bars either side of the touchpad.
Also, the 'share' button got a promotion in the form of a 'create' button, which gives it more a lot more functionality.
“DualSense marks a radical departure from our previous controller offerings and captures just how strongly we feel about making a generational leap with PS5," Sony Interactive Entertainment president Jim Ryan said in the blog post. "The new controller, along with the many innovative features in PS5, will be transformative for games – continuing our mission at PlayStation to push the boundaries of play, now and in the future."
Ryan summed up by mentioning that Sony is going to share more info about the PS5 (including its design) in the coming months that lead up to the Holiday 2020 launch.
The question is, will the new DualSense controller be enough for Sony to win the console war?
