Animal Crossing New Horizons players that have been using the item duplication glitch are in for a rough time with the game's latest update.

Animal Crossing New Horizons may only be a few days old, but Nintendo has already dropped a patch.

The big change is that patch 1.1.1 removes the chance to cheat by duplicating items.

There's only one item in the patch notes, and that is "Fixed a serious bug affecting game balance".

That bug was the item duplication glitch which was allowing players to duplicate items using the inventory of a second player.

With that bug squashed, paying back Tom Nook will now have to be done honestly – no more boosting your bells through counterfeit goods, you cheeky so and so.
