Rainbow Six Siege is in the midst of its first operation in year 5 - Operation Void Edge.

While its sometime before we get an idea of what season 2 will actually involve, we have plenty of early information for you about Year 5 Season 2 in Siege.

Here's what we know about the next season in Rainbow Six Siege

Release Date

The release date for Rainbow Six Siege's second season in year 5 is set to arrive June 2020 - expected to be the 7th June.

The new season will be unveiled on the 17th May, alongside the Pro League Season XI Finals in San Paulo, Brazil.

We're expecting the 7th June due to the usual three-week period of Test Server trials that occur on PC.

However, Ubisoft have announced that development could be slowed and the season may be delayed to the recent COVID-19 pandemic.

The maintenance schedule may be similar to the past season, which will look like this:

  • PC: 13:00 GMT | 9:00 AM EDT | 13:00 UTC
  • XB1: 12:00 GMT | 10:00 AM EDT | 14:00 UTC
  • PS4: 15:00 GMT |11:00 AM EDT | 15:00 UTC

Maintenance should last for roughly one hour.

New Operators

Just like Operation Void Edge, Season 2 will bring two new operators. In Season 1, we were introduced to Ianna and Oryx.

While it's unclear who they are and what they will do, based on the Road Map, we know that the two operators are from South Africa and Norway respectively.

We're expecting one male and one female Operator, as this tends to be the trend.

So far the only credible leak comes from Reddit user u/Maxinik03, who claims the upcoming defender is nicknamed "Slowpoke". Her gadgets slow players at a similar rate to the barbed wire and is also capable of marking enemy gadgets through cameras.

The Slowpoke defender will wield the T-5 SMG and Super 90 shotgun. While the attacking operator will use the AK-12 or Commando 552, with the M1014 providing backup.

House Map Rework

House will be getting a rework for the next season, which has been touted as a "casual" rework from Rainbow Six product directory, Roy Del Valle.

Reportedly, the floorspace will significantly grow, further extending the rear of the complex and fully furnished for a fresh theme.

This includes a new interior with an extra staircase, changes to the workshop, kitchen and master bedroom.

Event And Arcade Playlist

In Operation Void Edge, we received the Golden Gun arcade playlist.

It's yet to be confirmed what will arrive in the next season.
