Microsoft revealed a slew of new, interesting details on its next-gen console, the Xbox Series X, from specs, demos, and most importantly, details on the next-gen controller.

The console is still expected to have a 'Holiday 2020' release, which will be bundled with the swanky new controller, which is said to be improved upon the Xbox One controller “in smart, revolutionary ways.”

Whitaker mentioned that the new controller was designed with inclusivity in mind -  “improved ergonomics for a wider range of people, better cross-device connectivity, easier sharing, and reduced latency”.

If like me, you have tiny hands, then there's good news for you, the new controller is designed to fit more hand sizes, “especially smaller hands,” Whitaker said.

In addition to this, the triggers have been reduced, the bumpers rounded off, triggers reduced, and grips crafted for better accessibility.

Whitaker boasts that the D-pad was also designed to boost "performance and accessibility".

“When looking at the wide range of game genres and personal playstyles today, the D-pad is used in a lot of different ways,” Whitaker said.

“The slightly deeper dish gives your thumb a nice little ‘home’ to sit in. The angles are finely tuned to give you a good amount of leverage with minimal movement".

Will The New Xbox Series X Controller Work With My Xbox One?

Short answer... Yes!

Not only will the new controller work with the Xbox One, but also with PC, Android, and iOS.

It also has a way to remember each device, to make switching between that much easier.

The Share Button

The newest addition to the face of the controller is the share button sitting dead in the centre. t’ll be used to take screenshots and record video without opening up menus.

“You can easily access and share content with your social platforms or directly with friends,” Whitaker said.
