The VLK Rogue is the latest weapon to be added to the Modern Warfare arsenal. Find out how to master this weapon in this article.

As part of the 1.17 patch that went live on March 10th, a new weapon has been added to the multiplayer weapon arsenal.

The VLK Rogue, an agile 12-gauge mag fed shotgun, is extremely deadly at close-range but does fall short at longer distances, meaning attachment selection is key to achieve success with this new weapon.

In this guide, we will show you three different load-outs to suit all styles of play alongside some handy tips and tricks to give you the upper hand on your opposition in Season 5 of Modern Warfare.

1) One-Hit Wonder

This class is designed for fast, aggressive gameplay with the VLK dishing out one-shot kills all over the shop

VLK Rogue best attachments

Attachments

  • 16” Warlord (Barrel)
  • FTAC Hunter (Stock)
  • Granulated Grip Tape (Rear Grip)
  • 12 Round Mags (Ammunition)
  • VLK Prime Pump Grip (Pump Grip)

This set of attachments provides a much-needed increase in range while maintaining low recoil levels, making the VLK easier to control when up close with an opponent.

Perks

  • EOD (Perk 1)
  • Hardline (Perk 2)
  • Battle Hardened (Perk 3)

This perk combination is the go-to for aggressive players. EOD and battle hardened provide resistance to most utility while Hardline makes it easier to earn killstreaks.

Grenades

  • Semtex
  • Stun Grenade

Slow down a fast-moving enemy with the stun grenade and use the Semtex to throw into a window to take down a pesky camper or to clear out an objective.

Field Upgrades

  • Dead Silence

Use the element of stealth to your advantage by equipping dead silence to get behind enemy lines and take down several enemies in quick succession.

Killstreaks

  • Personal Radar (3 Kills)
  • Cruise Missile (5 Kills)
  • VTOL Jet (8 Kills)

With hardline equipped, this particular combination of killstreaks can be earned often and can deal plenty of damage onto the opposition.

2) Speed Machine

If the first class didn’t whet your appetite for an aggressive loadout, then we have just the answer for you!

Attachments

  • 6” Revolt (Barrel)
  • No Stock (Stock)
  • FMJ (Perk)
  • Stippled Grip Tape (Rear Grip)
  • XRK Race Grip (Pump Grip)

This attachment combination has been geared for outright mobility. With an increase in aim down sight speed and the addition of FMJ for a bit of extra firepower, this is arguably one of the most mobile and deadly weapons in the whole of Modern Warfare.

Perks

  • Double Time (Perk 1)
  • Ghost (Perk 2)
  • Tracker (Perk 3)

This is the ideal combination for this loadout. An increase in Tactical Sprint length, invisibility to UAVs and the ability to see the recent footsteps of enemies makes this selection of perks ideal for all out attacking play.

Grenades

  • Semtex
  • Stun Grenade

Slow down a fast-moving enemy with the stun grenade and use the Semtex to throw into a window to take down a pesky camper or to clear out an objective.

Field Upgrades

  • Stopping Power Rounds

Add some further lethality to the VLK by equipping stopping power rounds to this loadout. By doing so, it guarantees a one-shot kill at close range and adds some more power when attempting to secure a kill from longer distances.

Killstreaks

  • Counter UAV (4 Kills)
  • Precision Airstrike (5 Kills)
  • Wheelson (7 Kills)

The counter UAV is a great way to further conceal your position when pushing an opposing team. For what it can do in the hands of a capable driver, the Wheelson can be lethal, especially on the smaller maps in the game.

3) A Campers Dream

It is possible to make an impact on a game with a shotgun in your hands without running laps around the map. This class is perfect for catching players off-guard.

Attachments

  • VLK Czar (Barrel)
  • 5mW Lazer (Laser)
  • Forge TAC Ultralight (Stock)
  • Granulated Grip Tape (Rear Grip)
  • XRK ReliaGrip (Pump Grip)

These attachments provide maximum stability for improved accuracy and with the laser attached to improve accuracy when firing from the hip, this combination is perfect for playing it slow and making sure that you secure a kill easily.

Perks

  • Cold Blooded (Perk 1)
  • Restock (Perk 2)
  • Tune Up (Perk 3)

Cold Blooded keeps you out of sight from any AI killstreaks that may be present in a game, restock allows your utility supply to remain constant and Tune Up means you will have your field upgrade much quicker.

Grenades

  • Molotov Cocktail
  • Smoke Grenade

If you think an enemy may be advancing on your position, throw the Molotov at the doorway you think the opponent will appear and they will likely take their chances and run through the fire, making them weaker and a much easier target to eliminate.

Field Upgrades

  • Trophy System

Defend your position from a likely barrage of enemy grenades with a well-placed trophy system. Thanks to tune up, you’ll have access to this field upgrade frequently to defend yourself.

Killstreaks

  • Precision Airstrike (5 Kills)
  • Sentry Gun (7 Kills)
  • White Phosphorus (10 Kills)

With this class suiting a slower style of play, these streaks are easily attainable and can be used in a number of ways to give you the upper hand on the opposition.
