For those that don't know, Trials of Osiris is the pinnacle of the original game's PVP gameplay - offering tense 3 vs 3 firefights without respawns. Teams would bid to get nine victories in a row to be able to travel to the Lighthouse on Mercury and earn the game's sweetest loot.
After issues with players cheating, though, the mode didn't resurface in Destiny 2 - and was instead replaced by Trials of the Nine which proved less popular.
Dataminers found some sneaky suggestions that the mode is coming back, but now Bungie has outright confirmed it.
Destiny 2 players have been chipping away to donate Polarized Fractaline to the Empyrean Foundation faction, and by hitting the required amount, a new in-game cutscene has been triggered.
