What do you do in Animal Crossing: New Horizons? What is it and what can you expect?

Animal Crossing: New Horizons is the talk of the town...but what is it? What do you do in the game?

This adorable life simulation video game, which is being developed and published by Nintendo, will be the fifth major release in the games historic franchise when it launches on the Nintendo Switch in March.

Let's guide you through the wonders that is Animal Crossing: New Horizons.

Keep up to date with everything Animal Crossing by watching below!

What Do You Do In Animal Crossing: New Horizons?

To put it simply, you build out your own community and live your life along with your fellow villagers.

If you're familiar with the franchise, you'll know exactly what to expect. But if you're a newcomer, you'll be charmed by how relaxing and simple the game is on the surface but just how much depth there is that will keep you playing for hours.

The game's nonlinear life simulation is played in real-time. You assume the role of a customisable character as you move to a deserted island.

How did you get here? Tom Nook, a staple character within the franchise, has sold you a vacation package!

From here, you play out an open-ended adventure where you control the narrative, developing the community inhabited by anthropomorphic animals (that means they're animals that act like humans).

So how do you occupy your time? You can engage in activities like crafting tools to build and customise your village and house.

You'll be able to cook new recipes, farm agriculture, make new friends and accumulate collectables to show off in your home.

The best part is you can do this with your friends either locally or online - the game will support co-op!

There are plenty of new features to boot that plenty of fans will be exciting to see.
