Animal Crossing: New Horizons is the hot topic as it's seen as THE BIG release for 2020.
The game launched 20th March and despite having plenty of information at our disposal, there are still many burning questions to be answered.
One question that we know the answer to is whether multiple islands will be in Animal Crossing: New Horizons!

Players Are Review-Bombing Due To The Island Limit
Disgruntled players of the new Switch release have taken to Metacritic to leave negative reviews.
Almost every negative comment concerns New Horizons' multiplayer, and specifically the way in which only one island can be created per Nintendo Switch system.
As is the nature of the angry gamer, rather than assessing all aspects of the game, and weighing up the pros and cons, users have taken the opportunity to drag the game down with a score of zero, just... because.
Here are just a few of the angry comments:
- "The limitation of one island per Switch (not per cartridge, per Switch) is nonsensical. It‘s obvious Nintendo is just trying to sell more Switch consoles... Sorry but this is an instant 0/10".
- "If you have more than one person in your home that wants to play the game, you need two Switches. Worst decision I have ever seen, this even beats EA. Congratulations Nintendo, you have officially become the worst video game company this year".
Can You Have Multiple Islands In Animal Crossing: New Horizons?
No, you can NOT have multiple islands in Animal Crossing: New Horizons.
Each Nintendo Switch system is limited to just ONE island.
You might be concocting a way around this, well you're out of luck. Even if you were to play on different profiles, you will be limited to one island when playing locally.
The only way to access multiple islands is by having friends with their own Animal Crossing: New Horizons island to visit.
Could We Be Allowed More Islands In The Future?
Nintendo could lift the limitations at a later date to encourage more players to try out the game and potentially improve the online experience, but it's unlikely at this stage.
Mentions of DLC content could raise hopes that we could make new islands down the line, but it's not likely.
