Gym Guides

In Pokemon Sword and Shield, there are eight gyms that need to be concurred. As is tradition, each gym follows a certain type theme. They are as follows:

  1. Fighting (Sword) & Ghost (Shield)
  2. You'll need to ensure you have the correct types in your gym challenges to ensure you will come out the victor, as you will be coming up against much stronger Pokemon than you would normally face in the wild.

    Ideal Team Build

Ideally you'll want to build a team that has the following typings:

    • Grass
    • Water
    • Fire
    • Ice
    • Fighting
    • Ground

This should cover a vast majority of typings and will allow you to be flexible within battles.

Alternatively, you can have your Pokemon learn off type moves. For example, Scorbunny will learn the move Double Kick (a fighting type move) and his third evolution Cinderace will learn Bounce (a flying type move).
