Pokemon Sword and Shield introduces Zigzagoon's third evolution, Obstagoon. Obtaining Obstagoon is not as simple as it seems, here's our tutorial on how to get one.

The newest addition to the Pokemon Sword And Shield Pokedex is a final evolved form of a generation three classic - Zigzagoon.

The normal type Pokemon has received a new variant in the game and now has a Galar form along with its new final form.

Obstagoon has been quite the hot topic, about its evolution, so here are our tips and tricks to get one for yourself.

LVL 35?

According to multiple people and a couple of Pokemon sites, Linoone will evolve to Obstagoon only at LVL 35 during the night cycle.

This may be difficult as the night cycle can be a bit wonky, unless you have actually beaten the game, so be aware of this.

This should be one of the easiest methods, as Zigzagoon is one of the first Pokemon you will encounter.

However, some fans are reporting different ways to evolve it.

50-100 Battles?

According to some Pokemon trainers they have surpassed this LVL 35 benchmark and their Linoone did not evolve.

For some they are saying it evolved at LVL 42 and others are having mixed results. According to its Pokedex entry, it evolved after "numerous fights", anywhere from 50-100 successful battles is what players are experiencing before they get Obstagoon.
