November Player of the Month Update
With a new month of action across the domestic leagues, there are already a few players looking to stake their claim to the November Player of the Month awards!
After Sheffield United’s 3-0 home win to Burnley, Mousset leads the charge after his hat-trick of assists at the weekend. John Lundstram takes the 2nd place spot after his brace, with Sadio Mane taking the 3rd spot after his assist and all important 95th minute winner against Aston Villa.
A slightly slow start to Ligue 1 this month, with only 2 players on more than 1 goal contribution. So far, Memphis Depay leads the charge after his 2 goals away at Toulouse at the weekend.
A rampant Timo Werner may have already secured the Bundesliga POTM for November after grabbing 6 goal contributions in Leipzig’s momentous 8-0 thrashing at home to Mainz. Nkunku takes the 2nd place spot with 1 goal and 2 assists in the same match, with Kostic securing 1 goal and 1 assist in the 5-1 win over Bayern.
Marquee Matchups Week 8 Prediction
Another week of Marquee Matchups is set to arrive on Thursday, here’s my prediction for the upcoming week.
Piemonte Calcio - Milan
After seeing Juventus and the Serie A snubbed last week despite a strong derby with Juve vs Torino, I can’t see this big rivalry between Italy’s two most successful teams being ignored.
Bayern - Dortmund
Der Klassiker has to be in with a shout of getting into Marquee Matchups this week, again being a tie between two of the most successful teams in Germany.
Liverpool - Manchester City
It’s a super exciting week of football, Liverpool vs Manchester City is too big of a game to ignore. With Liverpool 6 points clear of Man City at the top of the table and somewhat cruising, a 9 point gap would surely put them in early contention of a league title!
Kaizer Chiefs - Orlando Pirates
The lower league fixture for this week could well be the Soweto Derby from South Africa, considered one of the most fiercely contested football matches in African football.
