The AK47 is by no means the best gun in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, but it can get you out of a tricky spot in most situations. Here are three classes to suit all styles of play.

The AK47 Assault Rifle (AR) is synonymous with the Modern Warfare series and it makes its return in its latest edition.

This weapon has a diverse variety of combinations that can be created in the Gunsmith and now Season 5 is upon us, you can choose to wield it as a mobile beast or a custom-built LMG/AR hybrid.

In this guide, we will show you three AK loadouts along with some helpful Modern Warfare tips & tricks to create the best possible loadout!

The AK47

The AK47 is a fully automatic AR with a high damage output, high levels of recoil and a moderate rate of fire. Unlocked at level 53, it is the last AR to be unlocked. Its slower rate of fire makes it much more consistent at longer ranges but it does hinder its close-range performance.

Class 1 – Total Damage

This first class is ideal for dealing maximum damage on your opponents.

Attachments

  • Commando Grip (Underbarrel)
  • Solozero Optics Mini Reflex (Optic)
  • Field LMG Stock (Stock)
  • Granulated Grip Tape (Rear Grip)
  • 40 Round Mag (Ammunition)

Offering a good balance of recoil control and some extra bullets in the magazine, this class is a perfect all-rounder for most styles of play.

Perks

  • E.O.D (Perk 1)
  • Ghost (Perk 2)
  • Shrapnel (Perk 3)

EOD increases explosive resistance, perfect to counter any grenades or claymores, Ghost will make you invisible to enemy UAVs, making it easier to navigate the map and Shrapnel will give you an extra piece of equipment for additional firepower.

Grenades

  • Frag Grenade (Lethal)
  • Flash Grenade (Tactical)

It’s personal preference for the choice of Lethal and a flash grenade is great to slow down any aggressive players that could rush you.

Field Upgrade

  • Stopping Power

When activated, Stopping Power rounds make the AK lethal from the waist up. Perfect for dealing with anyone using a headglitch.

Killstreaks

  • Personal Radar (3 Kills)
  • Counter UAV (4 Kills)
  • Cruise Missile (5 Kills)

Geared towards more aggressive gameplay, the lower killstreaks will help getting eyes on enemies, disrupting enemy UAVs and taking down large groups of opponents.

Class 2 – Sneaky Beaky

Class number two is great for a slower playstyle and gives you more of a chance to stay hidden.

Attachments

  • Merc Foregrip (Underbarrel)
  • Tactical Suppressor (Muzzle)
  • Scout Combat Optic (Optic)
  • Skeleton Stock (Stock)
  • Stippled Grip Tape (Rear Grip)

Muted sounds will keep you hidden from the enemy while the increased zoom levels of the optic will make it easier to take down enemies at range. The Skeleton Stock increases aim down sight (ADS) speed and overall movement speed when moving round the map, making it extremely mobile yet stealthy.

Perks

  • Double Time (Perk 1)
  • Hardline (Perk 2)
  • Tracker (Perk 3)

An increased tactical sprint length will be essential to escape any tricky situations, Hardline makes it easier to score higher killstreaks while Tracker will allow you to see enemy footsteps and perhaps a chance to perform some cheeky execution kills.

Grenades

  • Semtex (Lethal)
  • Smoke Grenade

It is personal preference when it comes to choosing a Lethal but the smoke grenade can provide great cover and a perfect tool to set up an ambush.

Field Upgrade

  • Dead Slience

Sneak around the map with ease by using Dead Silence.

Killstreaks

  • Cluster Strike (5 Kills)
  • Wheelson (7 Kills)
  • VTOL Jet (8 Kills)

With the added element of stealth, securing the higher killstreaks with the help of Hardline shouldn’t be an issue with this class.

Class 3 – Mini LMG

The third class is an absolute beast! Perfect for passive play and dealing a lot of damage without getting too much into the action.

Attachments

  • Bipod (Underbarrel)
  • Aim-Op Reflex Sight (Optic)
  • Skeleton Stock (Stock)
  • Rubberized Grip Tape (Rear Grip)
  • 75 Round Drum Mags (Ammunition)

The bipod makes the AK much more stable when crouched and prone while the huge magazine allows you to reign terror onto the opposition with no need for a timely reload.

Perks

  • E.O.D (Perk 1)
  • High Alert (Perk 2)
  • Battle Hardened (Perk 3)

Increased explosive resistance and resistance to flash and stun grenades, perk one and three provide good counters to incoming grenades when camped in a building. High Alert adds an element of awareness to enemies that have caught sight of you.

Field Upgrade

  • Trophy System

The trophy system is perfect to take down any projectiles that the perks fail to protect you from.

Grenades

  • Claymore (Lethal)
  • Heartbeat Sensor (Tactical)

Protect your spot with claymores and keep track of any incoming enemies with the heartbeat sensor.

Killstreaks

  • Precision Airstrike (5 Kills)
  • VTOL Jet (8 Kills)
  • Chopper Gunner (10 Kills)

This class makes the higher killstreaks a viable option, especially when camped in a building or mounted with several angles to observe.
