Modern Warfare's MP7 submachine gun is one of the top weapons in the game. Here are tips and tricks for how best to use it.

The MP7 is a strong SMG in Season 5 of Modern Warfare and is a great choice in Warzone.

A long-time favourite of Call of Duty players has been reincarnated in the latest game and can be your new go-to weapon.

Here you'll find everything you need to know to properly wield the MP7 and its attachments.

The MP7

The MP7 is a fully automatic SMG with a high rate of fire and low recoil; it is unlocked at level 54.

The MP7 boasts the highest rate of fire for guns in its category, meaning it is lethal up close.

It really underperforms at mid range, as it suffers a severe drop off in damage.

Class 1 – Agile Objective Class

Class number one is perfect for pushing an objective and slaying out the enemy while staying on the move.

Attachments

  • FSS RECON (Barrel)
  • 1mW Laster (Laser)
  • FORGE TAC Ultralight (Stock)
  • Stippled Grip Tape (Rear Grip)
  • Operator Foregrip (Underbarrel)

This gun setup will allow you to maintain a good level of accuracy while keeping your mobility intact. This is a class that pro players Envoy and Simp use.

Perks

  • Quick Fix (Perk 1)
  • Ghost (Perk 2)
  • Battle Hardened (Perk 3)

This is the perfect objective class, allowing you to really get the most out of capturing flags or headquarters.

Grenades

  • Semtex (Lethal)
  • Smoke Grenade (Tactical)

This comes down to preference, but being able to use grenades to help secure objectives, like a semtex and smoke grenade, will benefit you greatly.

Field Upgrades

  • Trophy System

The trophy system will help you capture objectives by blocking incoming equipment.

Killstreaks

  • Personal Radar (3 Kills)
  • UAV (4 Kills)
  • Cluster Strike (5 Kills)

Playing more aggressively will mean that the higher killstreaks are out of reach, so aiming for lower killstreaks is the way to go.

Class 2 – Silent But Violent

This setup is all about staying undetected by the enemy and using the MP7's core attributes to its fullest. With it being so deadly up close, you want to be able to complement this feature and use what you have to get as near to your opponent as possible.

Attachments

  • Monolithic Supressor (Muzzle)
  • FSS Recon (Barrel)
  • 5mW Laser (Laser)
  • Commando Foregrip (Underbarrel)
  • Stippled Grip Tape (Rear Grip)

This class focuses more on the hipfire aspect of your game and keep your shots silent. Your gun will likely suffer at range, so you'll need to select your fights wisely.

Perks

  • Double Time (Perk 1)
  • Ghost (Perk 2)
  • Tune Up (Perk 3)

This will help you get around the map in the best way possible, with Tune Up focusing on utilising your field upgrade to help you traverse the area.

Grenades

  • Semtex (Lethal)
  • Heartbeat Sensor (Tactical)

I always recommend going with what works best in terms of lethal grenades, but I would recommend using a heartbeat sensor to give you a scope on where enemies are before moving. Every decision counts with this class.

Field Upgrades

  • Dead Silence

You're going to do a lot of running into enemy territory so you'll need to make sure you're quiet.

Killstreaks

  • Personal Radar (3 Kills)
  • Counter UAV (4 Kills)
  • Cluster Strike (5 Kills)

Playing more aggressively will mean that the higher killstreaks are out of reach, so aiming for lower killstreaks is the way to go.

Class 3 – Range

The MP7 traditionally struggles at range, but there are lots of maps in Modern Warfare with a lot of lines of sight. Doing everything you can to extend this weapon's range is certainly worth your while.

Attachments

  • Compensator (Muzzle)
  • FSS Recon (Barrel)
  • Tac Laser (Laser)
  • FORGE TAC Stalker (Stock)
  • Granulated Grip Tape (Rear Grip)

These attachments focus on giving you the best range possible this weapon so you won't be outmatched on some of the bigger maps.

Perks

  • Scavenger (Perk 1)
  • Hardline (Perk 2)
  • Tune Up (Perk 3)

There aren't many perks that will help you with this class, so I would recommend having scavenger so you can afford to spam bullets, hardline to help you get killstreaks easier and Tune Up to allow your field upgrade to unlock more regularly.

Grenades

  • Proximity Mine (Lethal)
  • Gas Grenade (Tactical)

This will come down to preference and how you decide to play with this setup. The proximity mine will help watch your back and cut off choke points and the gas grenade will hopefully flush out stubborn enemies hiding behind cover.

Field Upgrades

  • Stopping Power Rounds

If you're fighting at distance, you'll want to give your shots the best quality of life when in a gunfight.

Killstreaks

  • UAV (4 Kills)
  • Cruise Missile (5 Kills)
  • VTOL Jet (8 Kills)

You'll hopefully see higher killstreaks with this setup allowing you to be more adventurous with your streaks, as you'll have hardline, a UAV will only cost you 3 kills.
