FIFA 20 has officially launched and with it has come a number of different features and changes. Here's a simple free-kick tutorial to help you score more goals in Ultimate Team.

FIFA 20 features many different features and changes that you should be aware when jumping into Ultimate Team, Pro Clubs or Career Mode - particularly surrounding free kicks

Former professional FIFA player Ovvy, who has competed in many Gfinity FIFA tournaments in the past, has done a great free-kick tutorial to help you make the most of these opportunities with tips and tricks to imrpove your gameplay.

You can check out all of Ovvy's videos and more on his channel here.

Free Kick Tips And Tricks

Power And Accuracy

One of the first tips that Ovvy recommends is that you need to find the right balance between power and accuracy. He recommends between 1.5-2.5, depending on the distance. The longer you hold the shoot button, the less precise your shot will be.

Spin & Curve

When it comes to top spin, you'll need to aim above your intended target for the desired effect to have an impact.

When it comes to side curve, you'll need to aim away from your intended target for the desired effect ot have an impact.

When it comes to putting spin and curve on the ball, you need to compensate for that effect by adjusting where you aim. If you aim directly at the goal and put a variation of activity on the ball, it will likely not go to plan. There are a variety of things you can do with a free kick:

  • Knuckleball - Flick the analogue stick from UP to DOWN to achieve a knuckleball free kick.
  • Low Driven free kick - Flick the analogue stick from DOWN to UP to achieve a low driven free kick.
  • Topspin - Flick the analogue stick from DOWN to UP to get some topspin on your shot. Be sure to flick in a STRAIGHT LINE to avoid adding curve to the shot.
  • Curved Free Kick - Flick the analogue to the left or right side in a sweeping motion, depending on the curve that you want to apply.
