Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Gunfight Alpha will be available on PlayStation 4 for everyone to play this weekend only - here you can find the dates, times and how to pre-download it. When Will The Alpha Go Live?
The Alpha will be live between the 23rd-26th August on PlayStation 4 only. The timing is as follows:
- 10am PDT
- 6pm BST
- 1pm EST
- 12pm CT
The open alpha is now available to pre-download and is 36GB in size.
What Is Gunfight?
Back in June, we got our first look at the 2v2 Gunfight mode courtesy of a content creator livestream with well known personalities LEQION, Syndicate, Courage and TeePee. This was the worlds first look at Modern Warfare 2019 multiplayer gameplay.
Gunfight is a new 2v2 game mode that we saw in the recent creator mini multiplayer reveal. Teams are put into a small map, where they must fight to eliminate the opposing team. All players have one life per round and do not regenerate health. At the start of a round, all players are given the same class but it is randomised every few rounds. The first to 10 round wins will be the victor.
How Does It Differ To Regular Multiplayer Modes?
- No health regeneration
- Maps are specifically made for this mode
- No perks are used in this mode
- Classes are preset and generated at random
- Teams can win by having more health than the other
- The game mode has an in-game bracket system built in
