Format

The tournament will feature Blast’s signature and often criticised format with the group stage being comprised of every team playing each other in a best of one match.

However, Moscow will continue to use the format change used in Los Angeles by featuring best of three semi-finals series.

Additionally, the event, much like in Blast Pro Series Madrid, will feature a best of three play-in match between Forze and Avangar. This match acts a resolution to the regional qualifier for CIS teams.

The event will be significant in deciding which teams will attend the Blast Pro Series: Global Final at the end of the year. An event teams can attend by achieving good results at Blast tournaments.

Tickets

Fans can get tickets now to attend for the end of the group stage and playoffs on the 14th September. Prices range from 1,200 ₽ to 130,000 ₽ for VIP Box access.

The arena fans will be visiting is the VTB Arena Moscow, a new stadium for Counter Strike events. However, Blast Pro Series Los Angeles did see a last minute change in venue due to tickets underselling.

Prize Pool

Blast will continue to use a $250,000 prize pool. The winnings will be divided as follows:

1st - $125,000

2nd - $50,000

3rd - $25,000

4th - $15,000

5th (Stand-Off Winner)- $30,000

6th - $5,000

Teams

Fans will get their first taste of Counter Strike after the major in Moscow.

Before the major Vitality enter as the favourite going into their first Blast tournament with ENCE, a team they’ve never failed to beat, as their main competition. Although Natus Vincere will be looking to prove themselves in front of the home crowd and earn their second Blast trophy.

By Moscow MIBR may have found their fifth player, rumoured to be Vito “kNgV” Giuseppe. Ninjas in Pyjamas could also be fielding a new pickup as legendary player Christopher “GeT_RiGhT” Alesund is supposedly being removed from the team after 7 years of service.
