Twitch streamer Félix ‘xQc’ Lengyel shot to fame for his Overwatch plays, and since then has been a controversial personality on the streaming platform. The Canadian has been repeatedly banned from his Grand Theft Auto roleplaying server for breaking rules, and has recently been on a spree of controversial gambling streams.
However, with Apex Legends Season 10 fast approaching, the streamer decided to try his hand at Respawn’s hit battle royale game. Along with regular Call of Duty: Warzone streamer Tim ‘TimTheTatman’ Betar, he jumped into Apex Legends with his classic Overwatch gusto. This may not be his first Apex rodeo, but he certainly doesn't play the game often.
And to be fair to him, xQc wasn’t terrible. He beamed some players and managed to hit plenty of Wingman shots (which is easier said than done). This clip from his stream shows that his game sense is a little lacking, however, as he failed to pop a batt twice before engaging in a fight. Having some shields would have saved him, but it was not to be.
However, it was not xQc’s Wingman skills that caught viewers’ attention. Obviously unable to stay away from his gambling streams, the streamer loaded up on Apex Packs to try to get himself some sweet cosmetics.
Lo and behold, under half an hour after starting to open packs, the lights shone red and he got the most coveted cosmetic of all – an Apex Legends heirloom.
If you don’t know exactly how to get Apex Legends heirloom shards, it’s simple: you just open packs. There’s a minute chance of receiving the shards in every pack, and after opening 500 of the loot boxes you’re guaranteed one set of heirloom shards to use on a Legend of your choosing.
Many players have been playing solidly since day one of Apex Legends and are still without an heirloom, so seeing xQc get one immediately certainly ruffled some feathers in the community. However, maybe he’s just been practicing his gambling. That’s how it works, right?
