Skull Town May Come Back to Apex Legends as an Arenas Map

A few days ago, Respawn Entertainment tweeted out an ASCII picture with the text, "What if we brought back Skull Town" on Twitter.

Ryan Rigney followed up the tweet with "Patch Notes coming Thursday."

Apex Legends fans were thrown into a tizzy of speculation over what this could mean for the game.

Skull Town was a POI in the King's Canyon map, which is not currently in rotation in Apex Legends Season 9.

The Return of Skull Town

The initial tweet from Respawn was posted on June 21, 2021, at 12:480 p.m. EST.

It quickly racked up over 88 thousand likes and over 9000 retweets.

Today (June 23, 2021), at 12:02 p.m., they posted the following:

It seems that Apex Legends are getting a new Arenas map with the 9.1 update, and the Patch Notes for that update will be arriving on June 26, 2021.

In Season 5, Skull Town was blown off the King's Canyon map by Loba's attempt to kill Revenant.

It makes a lot of sense for the POI to return to the game in the form of an Arenas map, allowing players to enjoy the area once again without retrying the series' story to have the town magically come back from the ashes.

Apex Legends 9.1

Apex Legends should be dropping on June 28, 2021, with the patch notes on June 24, 2021.

Along with the Skull Town Arenas map, there is also rumored to be a new Collection Event on the way and some matchmaking fixes regarding the "no-fill" option and matchmaking speed.

Unfortunately, Ranked Arenas will not be included in the update but should hopefully arrive by Apex Legends Season 10.
