The CAR SMG made its Apex Legends debut as part of the Season 11 update. Armed with a fully automatic firing mechanism, the SMG is capable of dealing plenty of damage and is hugely versatile thanks to its two ammunition types.

Apex Legends CAR SMG review

The CAR SMG is a very handy gun to have in both Battle Royale mode and Arenas mode. The high rate of fire makes it perfect for those frantic, close-combat battles. Also, the ability to use both light and heavy ammo makes it much easier to find ammunition on the battlefield.

The only downside that we could find is that the recoil is quite high, but no more so than any of the other SMGs that you will find in Apex. It doesn't take an awful lot of time to adjust to the CAR, but it can be a bit troublesome if you're not used to it.

The CAR SMG has definitely made its mark as one of the best SMGs in Apex Legends. If you want to pair the SMG with a powerful ranged weapon, check out the Sentinel Sniper Rifle. It's a powerful Sniper that is dangerous without any attachments, but lethal with the right ones.
