Apex Legends: Valkyrie's Passive Has Raised Concerns in Season 9

We're a few days out from the release of Season 9 and fans have some concerns over the new Legend's abilities.

Valkyrie will be fighting on the battlefield at the start of the new Season bringing some of the Titanfall lore to Apex.

Valkyrie's Abilities

Valkyrie is set to join the roster very shortly, so what abilities will she have?

  • Passive: VTOL Jets
  • Tactical: Missile Swarm
  • Ultimate: Skyward Dive
  • Class: Recon

The main ability players are taking issue with are the "VTOL Jets". These allow Valkyrie to easily manoeuvre around the map.

So, what about this passive ability seems unbalanced?

Balancing Issues

Some fans of the game are concerned that adding Valkyrie to Apex will make some of the other Legends somewhat useless.

Most of Pathfinder's build focuses on fast movement and rotating around the map with speed. It seems Valkyrie's abilities have a similar function and are far superior to Pathfinder's.

The developers have made it so Valkyrie cannot use her weapons when flying, which is a good balance to a character that focuses on movement.

However, some members of the community have said they think Path still has plenty of usage in the new season.

Valkyrie's abilities seem much slower than Pathfinders as well as louder, making you a much bigger target when using her ability.

We'll have to wait for Valkyrie's launch to get a hands-on look at her abilities.

If she does seem too powerful, we may see a nerf to her kit as the season progresses.

Season 9 Release Date

Apex Legends Season 9 is releasing on 4th May 2021.

We're a few days out from the launch of the new season meaning the Developers may still have time to make small balancing changes, but we're unlikely to hear anything before launch.
