Ever since Apex Legends was released in February 2019, the roster of weapons that you can choose from in the game has continuously expanded. Whether you pick a weapon up in the scramble toward a loot bin at the beginning of a battle royale, or you buy it from the shop before the next round in an arena, weapon choice is important.
As there are several different categories of weapons for you to choose from, there is a high chance that there are one or two guns that are meant for you. It may take a while to figure out which type is for you or which specific weapon will be known as your favourite. If you lean towards weapons that pack a punch and use powerful ammunition, then we may have the one for you.

Volt Review
If we're being honest, it's difficult to argue against any of the five SMGs available in Apex, as all five have the capabilities to be end-game guns if they are used correctly. There are a number of benefits for the Volt, it has the fastest projectile speed of any of the five SMGs, whilst it also has a faster full reload than any of its competition.
However, without the correct attachments, it can be quite difficult to control. This means that it can leave you vulnerable in the Arena's mode as accuracy can decide whether you die or survive. That being said, it's a powerful weapon for ranged combat, so it's perfect for scaring off other squads in Battle Royale. Ultimately, the Volt SMG is a unique weapon, therefore we recommend that you try it out for yourself.
The Volt SMG is just one of many weapons in Apex Legends that use Energy Ammunition. If you want to find out more about another powerful weapon that uses this type of ammunition, check out our Devotion guide. Also, if you decide that close-range combat is not for you, then why not check out the Sentinel Sniper Rifle? It's a powerful weapon on its own, but if you add high-tier attachments to it, it becomes deadly.
