Apex Legends Season 5: New Legend Is A Simulacrum Like Revenant?

A new character appears to have been teased by the official Apex Legends Twitter account, based on a mysterious GIF.

The GIF details a new character called a "Simulacrum". It's a little confusing, but we're here to clear up what that is and what this means for Apex Legends Season 5.

What Is A Simulacrum?

The tweet below aims to outline what a Simulacrum is - which is somewhere between an android and cyborg.

Cyborgs are half-man and half-robot. A Simulacrum appears to be a human's consciousness transferred into a new mechanical body.

Simulacrum's shouldn't be foreign territory for anyone that has immersed themselves in the Titanfall story, as they exist in this large and complicated universe that it and Apex has created.

These beings still see themselves in their former body when they look in the mirror; which explains the Revenant trailer a lot more. He looks at his reflection in the broken glass and sees a human staring back.

The GIF explains that three subjects have attempted and failed the neutral transfer; including Subject C who went "hysterical" when shown a copy of themselves - perhaps talking about Revenant?

It's unclear who the character is and whether they're new or old to the series. There's a lot of questions and few answers to what this all means, but hopefully, soon we can get an answer to both Revenant's past and it's future.
